Involved in Top-Level Productions Today
Kit’s graceful skiing style and seemingly effortless technique make her a joy to watch. Couple that with her work ethic evidenced in endless ski mountaineering accomplishments and it’s easy to see why she’s become a respected member of top video productions.
Recently, Kit’s filming schedule has taken her to the western fjordlands of Greenland for drone-maker DJI; to her backyard at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for Warren Miller Entertainment; and even into virtual reality for a skiing and climate change activism piece for Protect Our Winters.
A Leader Within the Industry
In 2015, National Geographic named Kit as an "Adventurer of the Year" after she helped a scientist settle a long-standing debate about which is the tallest mountain in the wild Brooks Range of northern Alaska. During the trip, she ascended the peaks in question to prove the accuracy of a new, more accessible form of topographical measurement. Read Dr. Matt Nolan’s article to know more.
That’s just one outstanding example of how she gives back to the places that have shaped her life. The Brooks Range expedition and others to Alaska sparked a desire in her to volunteer on the Board of Directors for the Alaska Wilderness League to help protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from oil and gas development.
Kit is also a volunteer director for The American Alpine Club (2014-2020) and has worked on campaigns for Protect Our Winters, where she’s a member of the Riders Alliance.
