Kit Deslauriers's first international climbing expedition was to Peak Siniolchu (6,887 m) in Sikkim, India during April/May of 1998. It was during this trip, as she moved through the majestic Himalaya, that Kit DesLauriers realized how much she wished she had her skis with her. A turning point in her approach to mountaineering, Kit decided that her focus would be on ski mountaineering and refining the skills she needed to ski anywhere. This focus has seen her through to ski descents in the mountains of Antarctica, Russia, Alaska, the European Alps, New Zealand and South America.

Coached by today's hottest women freeskiers and designed for psyched intermediate and advanced women skiers who want to turn it up in the steeps and non-groomed terrain. Led by Kit DesLauriers, a big mountain freeskier and ski mountaineer, Kit is the 2004 and 2005 World Freeskiing Women's Champion and a professional ski mountaineer.
CAMP DESCRIPTION: Three days of on slope coaching by women, for women, includes 2 days of lift served skiing and one day of snowcat skiing. Learn to refine your technique in powder, crud, variable conditions and steeps. We focus on your individual needs with small coach to client ratios no larger than 8 to 1. Each morning we women will begin with an hour of yoga to prepare our minds and bodies for the day ahead. On slope video is a tool which we use for a daily analysis of our progress. Turn it UP in the front AND backcountry with this all women’s weekend of ski instruction coached by Kit DesLauriers, Women’s Freeskiing World Champion and professional ski mountaineer at SugarBowl, CA this February 17 & 18, 2007.
With the first day spent riding the chairlifts at SugarBowl, everyone will get personalized ski instruction with video analysis so they are ready to focus on new skills for day two where the group will move into the backcountry to incorporate their expert ski technique with learning to travel safely “out of bounds”. If you have been wishing for a few pointers on your skiing AND you have been wondering where to go to learn more about ski touring, so sign up today!

Kit DesLauriers has been living and skiing in the Tetons and at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for the past 7 years.
